The Georgia Launching Opportunities by Exporting (GLOBE) Awards program began in 2014 as a way to recognize local business contributing to Georgia’s economic growth through global trade.
Since its inception, the GLOBE Awards have recognized more than 150 Georgia businesses from 43 counties across the state who entered new international markets.
In 2018, 40 Georgia companies received GLOBE Awards for entering new international markets in 2017. The 2018 winners are located across the state with employment ranging from 2-4000. Approximately 75% of the winners are small businesses with 100 employees or less. GLOBE winners collectively expanded their sales into 84 new countries and territories during 2017. Some of the more active markets include Colombia, Canada and the United Kingdom. Six of the 2018 GLOBE winners were first time exporters.
Governor Nathan Deal honored this year’s GLOBE Award Winners in March at the 2018 Go Global Reception held at the Atlanta History Center.
